Origins
TRM was founded by David Hanlon and Jill Rigney in 2006 from a shared belief that human potential is fundamental to the performance and prosperity of organisations, industries and communities.
Every idea has a birthplace. TRM's was agriculture and strategic business development, shaped by their experience across Australia and internationally. From these beginnings, TRM's work soon extended well beyond agriculture.
David and Jill developed a suite of innovative programs for TRM that focused on untapped or underdeveloped human potential in the belief it would lead to stronger leadership, greater engagement and improved organisational performance.
Among these were the highly regarded Power of Engagement and Rural Leaders Bootcamp. A strategic partnership with Norton|Norris in the USA extended the reach and impact of TRM's programs beyond Australia.
Twenty years on, the premise remains simple: when human potential grows, so too does the potential of organisations, industries and communities.

Jill Rigney
Co-Founder and Director
As co-founder of TRM, Jill has always placed the human element at the heart of its programs and services. Her career began in business support, managing national benchmarking projects across Australia's rural industries. Combining this commercial and production experience with a deep curiosity about human capacity led Jill into the specialised field that has shaped her work ever since.
Today, Jill is regarded as a dynamic speaker and facilitator focused on leadership, performance and social cohesion. Her work helps people maintain clarity, sound decision-making and high functionality under stress, pressure, fatigue and fear.
Through TRM, Jill continues to explore the potential and capacity of humans and human relationships. Intent on strengthening the quality of conversations and relationships to build stronger organisations, families, industries and communities.
David Hanlon
Founder — Remembering with gratitude
7 June 1950 – 22 November 2021
David was the visionary behind TRM. His experience, curiosity and willingness to test new ideas became the foundation for TRM's programs. Raised near Deniliquin in the Riverina, David became an international business strategy and marketing consultant, later specialising in leadership and high-performance development. His career spanned Australian and international agribusiness, and he was recognised as one of the Asian Development Bank's leading strategic market analysts during the 1990s and early 2000s. After co-founding Resource Consulting Services (RCS) with Dr Terry McCosker, David co-founded TRM with Jill Rigney in 2006. He had a rare ability to simplify complex ideas, create practical programs and spark conversations that changed how people and organisations approached success. His thinking and influence remain deeply embedded in TRM and in the many people and organisations touched by his work.
